Essie grew up in Kansas and Oklahoma, and has a deep love for red clay dirt and flint hills sunsets.  She has spent the last decade learning what life is like outside of America’s heartland. She has served as a PCUSA Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) in Belfast Northern Ireland, attended Seminary at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Virginia, and most recently explored the Great Lakes State of Michigan as she served as the Interim Director of Youth Ministry at First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor.

 

Essie first came to DMPC as a seminary intern in the summer of 2016, and loved it so much that she found her way back.  She is married to Eric Koenig-Reinke, who is also a pastor and currently serves as the interim associate at Second Presbyterian Church in Baltimore.  Their daughter Lucy, loves Elmo and all things Ms. Rachel. And their dog, Bentley, loves playing tag and running around and exploring the world around him.
